When I started our blog, my hope was to share information, stories, and travel tips for those who wish to live life abroad. And for the past 4 months that’s exactly what we have been doing. Tips on what to expect if you move to Austria, stories about the week we just lived, and information on some of the best hikes and cutest towns.

In honor of the 4th month, we will cover 4 topics. A story about our friends, a tip for a good valentines day gift, some background information on our point of view for our weekly videos, and last but not least—an interactive poll. After all, these blog posts are mainly for us to remember our time here and to allow everyone be apart of our journey.

1. February is National Wedding Month

….And today, my girl Jess is marrying the love of her life and I hate that I am not able to be there right now. Due to the covid, traveling back home was near impossible for us, but we wish Jess and Matt the very best day and a lifetime of happiness from across the world. #JessMetHerMATTch

2. Valentine’s day gift idea

You have exactly 7 days until valentines day. If you’re still thinking of a good gift idea, look no further. The whimsical illustrations I create are a great way to honor your other half and appreciate the life you have created together. This week one of my favorite influencers reposted my illustration and when I woke up I received over 70 new followers and several illustration questions and requests.

3. Our weekly videos

My approach to our weekly videos is to show slices of life moments in Austria. Much like a song is a musical representation of how an artist feels, these videos are a cinematic tribute to our life in Austria. This weeks film features a cover of “Here Comes The sun”. Since we moved here, 90% of the time has been foggy and cloudy—but this week has been sunny. The majority of our days have been quarantined in our home—but tomorrow is the start of lockdown restrictions letting up. This week was my first full week without having my advertising job back home—but I have had calls and interviews with Austrian agencies and I am so excited to see where I end up in the next few months. The song choice for this week really resonated with the life moments we are experiencing. After the year of darkness 2020 brought, I know the world is ready for the sun to come out and for life to get back on track.
