Week 189: Canyoning the Burggrabenklamm
It officially feels like summer in Austria has begun!
We ended the week jumping, sliding, and rappelling down a canyon 30 minutes from our house, the Burggrabenklamm, with a tour company called Outdoor Friends.
This is the canyoning tour we were hoping to do in Week 187-188 with Eric’s siblings, but the weather wasn’t cooperating. So we did it this week instead.
We have been canyoning in Hawaii, Slovenia, and Madeira, and this one in Austria was by far the most wild and slightly dangerous. The tour was labeled “Sporty Beginner,” but I would probably say it was more of an advanced level.
Because of recent storms, there were several tree logs in the way of the rock slides. We found a way around them, but there were a few close calls.
We spent about 2.5-3 hours in the canyon.
The next couple of weeks, we will be crossing off a few more bucket list hikes and via ferratas around Austria!
