Week 26: Traunfall

This week we found a waterfall just a few minutes from our house. In the tiny town of Roitham, the Traunfall is a mighty sight to see.

The Traunfall was once was a feared passage to the River boatmen who had to navigate across this narrow gorge. In 1834, 21,000 tons of salt were transported from Gmunden down the Traun River, but the tradition of boating and transportation was drawn to a close on November 04, 1911. Today, you can walk along a trail through the Traunfall Forest until you reach the Traunfall.

Now that we live in Austria, I can not believe I used to check off a new country after only seeing a handful of sites. The Traunfall is something we never would have considered exploring as tourists, let alone Gmunden. The small villages of Austria are hardly ever considered a tourism destination, but they usually have the best hidden gems. In a pre-covid world, we probably would have spent our time exploring the major cities. Instead, we have enjoyed our weekends discovering all the small towns Upper Austria has to offer.

This upcoming Tuesday will be 6 months in Austria. As I mentioned in my post last week, I am launching the first item in our little online shop today!

Drum roll please… Introducing Pack Mama Lightroom Presets!

Presets are simple photo filters that have more customization than the filters that come on Instagram and are designed to transform your photos on your phone in seconds. Most of the photos we take are using our iPhones and I rely on my Lightroom presets to produce the consistent, quality photos to share with our friends and family.

In honor of our 6 months abroad, you will receive 6 presets we use all the time on our images for $6! This sale will last until Tuesday, April 20!
