Week 37: Gollinger Waterfall

Today, we ventured to the Gollinger Waterfall, near the city of Salzburg, just a little over an hour drive from our house. Since August 1805, nature lovers have been flocking here to explore and this weekend was our turn.

The waterfall pours out from a cave and then continues to plunge down 75 meters towards the Salzach valley. It is broken into two separate sections where bridges are built to walk across and feel the cool refreshing mist.

Pack Mama Tip:
If you bring your dog, be prepared to pick Fido up and carry him across the bridge as the grated walkway will hurt their feet. The lady in orange in the picture below was also carrying a dog!

The official open season is from May to October. During this time you can visit daily between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m for 5€/adult. During November-April, the waterfall is officially closed. However, it is possible to visit as access to the waterfall trail is not blocked.

It was another outing with several stairs and narrow pathways. So, on crowded days, it can be a bit challenging to maneuver.

A few months ago our neighbor asked us to film their wedding! Flash-forward to yesterday and we successfully captured the whole day. The ceremony took place in the Schloss Ort just 8 minutes walking distance from our home! I will be spending the rest of this week editing the pictures and putting together their wedding video.
